Detailed Description & Specifications
Loose White Silica Gel Beads
Loose White Silica Gel Beads are non-indicating, high-purity amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO2 ≥ 98.5%) synthetic desiccants manufactured in vitreous, spherical bead morphology. Engineered for static and dynamic moisture extraction, the beads capture ambient water vapor through physical capillary condensation within an internal network of sub-nanometer pores without undergoing chemical reactions, phase transitions, or dissolution.
Because the adsorption mechanism relies purely on physical surface forces and hydrogen bonding with internal silanol groups (Si–OH), the beads remain solid, structurally stable, and dry to the touch even at full moisture saturation. Unlike deliquescent salt desiccants (such as calcium chloride), white silica gel beads generate zero corrosive liquid brine runoff, emit no toxic off-gases, and are non-reactive with sensitive industrial substrates. The product is 100% free of Dimethyl Fumarate (DMF), cobalt salts, and toxic biocides, making it fully compliant with international environmental and consumer safety directives.
Structural & Micro-Pore Architecture
- Spherical Hydrodynamic Morphology: The smooth, uniform spheroidal geometry is engineered specifically for column-flow dynamics. When loaded into deep desiccant beds or drying towers, spherical beads self-level into a uniform packed bed that reduces interstitial void variation, prevents fluid channeling, and delivers minimal pressure drop across high-velocity gas and air streams.
- Nanoporous Capillary Network: The internal matrix comprises interconnected micropores with a narrow average pore diameter of 2.0 to 3.0 nm. This micro-architecture creates an extensive specific surface area of 650 to 800 m²/g, enabling rapid adsorption kinetics and high volumetric water vapor uptake across moderate and elevated relative humidity levels.
- Mechanical Crush Resistance & Low Attrition: Vitreous spherical beads possess exceptional individual compressive strength (≥ 120 N/bead) and high spherical retention (≥ 98%). This structural rigidity resists decrepitation, fragmentation, and powder attrition under dynamic cyclical pressure swings and heavy static column loads.
- Non-Deliquescent Adsorption State: Water molecules bond physically within the active nanopores via physical adsorption. The exterior spherical shell remains solid and non-tacky, eliminating the risk of bead agglomeration, cake formation, or casing corrosion.
